General

Is Energy Efficient Homes Roofing licensed and insured?

Yes. We are a Florida State-Certified Roofing Contractor, license number CCC1337403, and we carry insurance. You can verify the license independently at MyFloridaLicense.com, the Florida DBPR's licensee portal — search the number and confirm the status reads Current, Active.

How much roofing experience does Energy Efficient Homes Roofing have?

More than forty years. Our team has been roofing in South Florida’s heat, wind and salt air for over four decades, and every job is run under our Florida State-Certified Roofing Contractor license, CCC1337403. Experience tells us what a roof here will do; the license and the documentation let you check our work rather than take our word for it.

What areas do you serve?

Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, plus surrounding South Florida communities. We are a service-area business — we come to you. If you are near the county line, call and we will give you a straight yes or no.

What is the Roof Report?

Our free inspection. We walk the roof and the attic, photograph what we find, and give you a written summary of the condition and remaining service life in plain language. You keep it whether or not you hire us.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Flexible financing options are available so an urgent repair or a replacement that cannot wait does not have to compete with the rest of your year. We walk you through what is available before you commit to anything.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. If you have active water coming in after a storm, call — we will talk you through emergency measures first and paperwork second.

Roof Replacement & Repair

How do I know whether I need a repair or a full replacement?

Two questions decide most cases: how much of the roof is affected, and how old is the roof relative to its expected life. Localized damage on a roof with years left is a repair. Widespread problems or a roof near the end of its life point to replacement. Florida's 25 percent rule can also apply on roofs built before the 2007 code. We put the answer, and the reasoning, in writing on every estimate.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most residential replacements are completed in one to three days depending on size, material and weather. Tile takes longer than shingle, and solar detach and reset adds a day on either end.

What roofing materials do you install?

Architectural shingle, concrete and clay tile, standing-seam metal, and low-slope systems (TPO, modified bitumen and coatings) for commercial and flat residential roofs. All products used in Broward County must carry High-Velocity Hurricane Zone approval, and ours do.

Do you pull permits?

Always. Roofing work in Florida requires a permit, and a licensed contractor pulls it in the company's name — never yours. The closed permit is part of what makes your roof count for insurance and wind mitigation.

Will you show me the condition of the roof deck?

Yes. Once the old roof is off we photograph the decking before anything is covered, so you see rot, gaps or prior repairs before decisions are made. You receive those photos.

Insurance, Storms & Code

Can a new roof lower my homeowners insurance?

Often, through Florida's wind mitigation program. A new, permitted, code-compliant roof with documented deck attachment and a secondary water barrier scores well on the wind mitigation inspection (Form OIR-B1-1802), and insurers are required by Florida law to offer discounts for those features. The amount is set by your insurer.

Do you work with insurance claims?

We document the damage, the cause and the repair with dated photographs and a written scope formatted to support your claim. We do not require you to assign your claim to us, and we do not pressure you to sign anything on the day of the estimate.

What is the 25 percent rule?

A Florida Building Code provision: if more than 25 percent of a roof section is repaired or replaced within 12 months, the whole section must meet current code. Since 2022, roofs built to the 2007 code or later are exempt — only the repaired portion must comply. We identify which version applies to your roof from the permit history.

Do you offer emergency tarping after a storm?

Yes. Emergency covering to stop active water intrusion is usually the first step after a storm, and we document and invoice it so it can be submitted as a mitigation expense.

Solar, Commercial & Energy

Can you replace a roof that has solar panels on it?

Yes. We handle the full detach and reset — labeling and removing the array, replacing the roof complete, installing and flashing new mounts, and reinstalling and recommissioning the system — with one contractor accountable for the whole job.

Do you do commercial roofing?

Yes. TPO, modified bitumen and coating systems for flat and low-slope commercial buildings, scheduled around your operating hours, with a condition report you can budget against.

What does an energy-efficient roof actually do?

It reduces the heat entering your attic through a reflective surface, balanced ventilation, a radiant barrier and adequate insulation — which reduces how hard your air conditioner works in the months it runs hardest.

Do you repair the interior after a leak?

Yes. Wet insulation, damaged drywall and the drying and treatment in between are part of our scope, so the roof and the interior are handled by one accountable contractor.

Still have a question?

Ask it on the phone, or let the Roof Report answer it with photographs of your actual roof.
